im starting a 26 gallon bow. reef wanted 2 c if anyone has tried a dwarf fuzzy lion in a small reef like this. any info appreciated. thanx

Don't they still get up to 7-8 inches? I think they need a bigger tank than that. Also i believe they nip at corals, like dwarf angels, but not always

Lions don't nip coral, well perhaps if they were starving and the coral was wiggling in a fishy fashion :D. I've kept Dwarfs in reefs no prob. They might max out at 8", but I've never seen one that size, most are less than 6". Fu Manchu lions are even smaller (but hide more). Your bigger issue is housing a predator in a small tank. They eat and excrete more than a group of smaller fish, so it's harder to keep the water clean. They'll also eat your desirable smaller organisms that janitor the tank for you.

Lions wont touch corals, you should be fine there.

They will eat small inverts though, and anything else that can fit inside their rather large mouths.

These are dwarfs, and they can be kept in a 30g tank usually IMO.

What are the chances that you will invest in appropriate filtration and do h2o changes accordingly to the needs of the aquarium?

If you can answer that question, you can answer the one you just asked me.

I like that answer. It answers most questions on MFK!!

whats the chances ill keep one and wont have water quality issues?

As Fleshy said, that really depends on how much time and money you feel like investing in the system.

This is so true...if this website was called "MonsterTank Keepers" I think a lot of the fish would be better off.

Thanks Simon...and with a fish like this, it could be quite a bit.

Luckily with a small tank having awesome filtration wont be too pricey, and large h2o changes dont have to be that large. :D
