I recently fish sat some tawain reef, p. Crabo, and m johanni and really liked them. I am looking to get 2 species of dwarfs for my 40g breeder to go with my 5" female Nicaraguan cichlid. The Nic was with the tank guests and really enjoyed the company, she has been sulking since they left. Since I have limited space in looking for ones with great female colors. Another issue is aggression, since aggression is relative and I have no mbuna experience(other than 3 weeks of sitting) I'm having issues which ones are aggressive for mbuna and which ones are just typical cichlid aggressive. Right now I'm thinking of p saulosi, m johanni, rusties, and red zebras. I really like c afra but not sure about the females, I have an Ad Konings book and he doesn't show a lot of afra females so I'm not sure if those collection points have males and females look the same or if they're just not shown. What other species have great looking females and which species may work together or definitely won't work together. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
