Dwarf Mondo Grass For Tanks?

Hey

i was at the lfs, and i saw some mondo grass in the tank for sale. is this a true aquatic plant?:confused: as they are around in the neighbourhood living in dirt and stuff, Anyway mum wanted some, so she got some put it in her tank and its looking good so far (2 days)and looks really nice. And im wondering if i should get some for my tank next week.I have read that they sometimes flower will this affect the fish? :confused:

It will survive for a few weeks. Its leaves are pretty waxy and waterproof. Not an aquarium plant as stated.
 
I grows well immersed, but not submersed. As an experiment I used an aquaclear 70 with nothing in it except sand and planted the mondo grass (actually it's japanese varigated rush) immersed and my nitrates went down to about 0.
