dwarf mosaic gar????

Just saw one of these listed at sharkaquarium.com...anyone have any information on them? I would be very interested if there are indeed dwarf gar, since i do not have large enough tanks for a regularly sized one. i googled the name but got nothing
 
mosaics are not a true gar. but they do only reach about a foot. i have one and they are very skittish. lots of top water plants are required to keep them from committing suicide. aside from that they are a very pretty fish and great for people who want a gar but cant accomodate them.
 
sounds cool, what do they eat? scientific name i can look up? i tried to google images for one, but nothing came up under mosaic gar
 
Mine is about 6-8" and is eating live feeders. I think they only get about 12". I'm going to have to get rid of mine eventually due to it being so skittish and me not really having room for it.
 
look it up nder the name spotted pike characin.
