Depends on the species:
regani/wallacii - 6" (though I've never seen one of either species larger than 4")
noto/orinico/xingu/citrus - 4"
compressiceps - 3-4"
uro's/heckeli - 2.5-4"
virgatula - not sure.

Female Regani:
Orinicos, xingu, and citrus are variations on regani or noto's.
Don't have a pic of compressiceps handy, but they are the most common, a google search should bring up some .. ie http://burnel.club.fr/Ams/Crenicichla_compressiceps_Male_Blanc.jpg
The others aren't really imported/seen at all.
