Hello, friends!
I would like the opinion of you about an albino senegalus I acquired.
I am impressed with the difference that exemplary development in relation to another common already possessed.
This fish has a diet much richer than its predecessor and has a poor growth rate... In the morning it eat pellets and at night live or frozen foods (bloodworms, peanut worms, tenebrio molitor, earthworms or shrimp).
Is he a dwarf? I've heard of Polypterus Short Body, but I can not identify ... Here are two photos of the shameless:

So, what do you think?
Bye!
P.S. Oh! I almost forgot, it must be with each other with a 11cm and 16cm. With that size gives to join the beasts?

He is probabily a dwarf. I had an albino that I had for 2 years that didn't grow a full inch. Mass bred bichirs are all like this.

I have a sen right now (normal) that hasn't grown in 2 years. So if you wait more that 6-8 months with now growth what so ever then it's most likely a short-body

not at all i have my 5" short body with my 10" palmas palmas. No problems what so ever, but if you plan to get polys that are in the larger teens than i would be worried but until then i wouldn't be.

Thanks, Dr.B!
I'm greenhorn in the maintenance of Polypterus and always heard that they were cannibals ... But, despite the difference in development, the two did not have a significant size difference as well.
I'll try to put them together and then post the result here.
Cheers!

Another Senegal probably won't bother it. But if u had a big lower jaw species look out. And even then they won't cannibalize a lot of the time. Just depends. And albinos tend to stay small

It's not a short body, short bodies tend to have atleast 1:3 head/body ratio.

Just a normal slow growing captive bred albino Senegal.
