(hmmm where should i post this?)

So I saw tiny ones at petsmart like a year ago and now my sister wants to get one..
But on liveaquaria it said they don't get too big..about an inch.
but it said they're aggresive?

lol
but how aggresive are these tiny ones?
will they harasse/kill larger fish?
will i be able to house a pleco and cory with one? and an ID shark and oscar with the puffer before they get too big for the puffer?

or are they better in a single tank?
if you do keep any fish with dwarf puffers can you tell me how it's going?

pufferfish tend to do better in species tanks. these guys will be fine as long as their tankmates don't have long fins, as they are notorious for fin nipping. and i think that the oscar would be a bad idea, because, even thought the dps (dwarf puffers) are somewhat aggressive, i think that they would be stressed or even killed by the oscar

You'll be surprised at how nasty these little guys are. They can (supposedly) kill things anywhere from their size to twice their size. The fish you listed should be fine, but the oscar and shark would have to be pretty small to not eat the puffer.

so while the oscar and shark are the same size with the puffer, everybody is safe?

will the cory and pleco be safe from mr. puffer?
are the puffers fast at swimming?(do they chase)

definitely a no on the oscar, the oscar will be big enough to eat the puffer so fast it isn't worth it even trying to house them together

a 2-inch oscar can eat a 1-1.5 inch rosy red. their mouths are very large when the oscars need them to be. a dwarf puffer would be a nice snack, not a nice friend.

The oscar and the iridescent shark are going to swallow that dwarf puffer whole. You can mix the dwarf puffer with corys and pleco, just don't get the oscar or the iridescent shark. Shouldn't get the iridescent shark anyway considering they get HUGE.

yeah if you found an oscar and id shrak the same size as a dwarf puffer it might work okay for about a week or two then the would grow large enough to eat the puffer plus at that size it wouldn't be hard at all for the puffer to take them out

but they can be pretty aggressive and need there space they also really like planted tanks

oscars and id shark will get big very fast in just a month, i'd better not put those guys with the dp.

Thanks.
I'll get a different puffertank then.
What would be good tankmates?

Can they swim fast though?
