So I ventured to a new fish store today for the first time today that I heard had great stock. It was a mom and pop store so I expected some incorrectly marked and slightly over priced fish but i was interested. He had a nice looking L91, a beautiful green phantom (which I took home and will post pictures later), a nice blue eyed red fin which I felt he wanted too much for and then he had labeled "Dwarf Red Tail Pleco". I've never heard of a dwarf red tail pleco and when I saw the fish I was %99.99 sure it was a baby L114.

They were only about 2inches and he said they'd only go to about 4in. so my question to MFK is, are there dwarf red tail pleco's that look exactly like L114's but stay tiny? and if not what is a reasonable price for a 2in L114?

Thanks

Get a pic that would help.

I also have never seen or heard of a of a pleco like this. Does not mean there is no such thing though. Pic is important.

No need to bump without pics. Not really a whole lot we could tell you. I have never heard of such a pleco, but that doesn't mean it doesnt exist.

Then it's a tiny 114?

From all the Pseudas that are known to the hobby none of them are dwarfs. I doubt this LFS has some new species.

That's how I felt but the guy assured me that it would only go to 4in. I didn't buy it assuming it was an L114 knowing they have a tendency not to get along well with other plecos.

No their not that bad. If you have the space and way more than enough hiding spots there should be very little trouble.

I kept a 11"-12" 600 and 13"-14" 114 with a bunch of smaller 25's, 114's and 600's with no problems. Maybe a bit of a chase but nothing i had to worry about. no marks or split fins just fish being fish.
