Anyone ever seen Pseudoscaphirhynchus sp dwarf sturgeon in the aquarium trade? Would be a cool aquarium fish given the adult size of about two feet.

its critically endangered due to habitat destruction, they're almost non existant. all sturgeons, are on CITES, either appendix I or II, which means the trade and selling is only permitted under special guidelines and restrictions. so on that fish, we could only wish... i've had dreams of that fish in the picture for years already!

Asia: Former USSR: Amu Darya River from the Pyandzh to the mouths and lower tributaries. Sometimes in the brackish water of Taldyk Bay, the delta of the Amu Darya in the Aral Sea. Considered close to extinction (Ref. 6866). International trade restricted (CITES II, since 1.4.98; CMS Appendix II). Registered in the 1984 USSR Red Book; 1985 Turkmen SSR Red Data Book; 1996 IUCN Red List; an d1997 CITES Lists (Ref. 35930).

Thanks Fugupuff! Maybe we should save it from extinction by breeding it as an aquarium fish :)

Wait a minute. No to long ago a LFS had small sturgeon for sale. They where about 6"long and like 16.99. But why would anyone want a fish that get large like that and lives a 100 years?
