Do they dye Arowana? I seen a blue Arowana at my LFS, it was $60, they said they aren't sure, but their pretty sure it's not dyed. I don't trust them since they said blood parrots are naturally occurring in the wild. I know they dye fish to make it more appealing to some, but not sure if they do it to Arows.

If they are the blue/red silver arowana they are dyed. (Often called blueberry arowana).

Haha, blood parrots naturally occurring........Sounds like they are willing to say anything to make a sale.

Black arowanas are actually blue when they are juveniles
No, they're called black arowannas for a reason, just look up a pic of a juvenile, but when they get larger, sometimes instead of their fins being black it can be a dark blue of some sort which is where that old confusion of a blue arowana species existing came from.

I read that the black ones can be blue as a juvi, but they had a red one too.

I'm positive they're dyed. The real ones would be illegal here.

Thanks for the help, everyone.

The blue dyed ones are called blueberry and reds are strawberry. Never seen any really big before, but if theyre like any other dyed fish they'll lose that color when they get big and go back to being their regular color. Bigger blacks have a hint of blue on their scales and a darker blue on their fins. I can get some pics of mine but there are a bunch in this form
