Okay so my local diy store only stocks white plastic tubing etc, I managed to get a black bulkhead but the smaller once for the return is white, is there anyways I can dye this or paint this black to match? The back of the tank is gonna be black also so it won't be very visable once it is all painted. Any ideas as to what I can do to get the plastic black?

The only thing I can think of that could work would be krylon fusion paint. It actually bonds to plastic instead of just coating it, but that might depend on what exactly the bulkhead is made out of.

Is that safe to use inside an aquarium? Like it will be diarectly in contact with the water, it won't leak anything nasty into my tank will it?

I'm sure there are other paints that will work and be safe, but krylon fusion has been used by many different members here with good results. I can verify that it works great on pvc.
