DYI Center Brace

not sure if this should be in DIY tank section.


Here's the deal: I bought a 40 breeder w/o a top. I have a 70 tall w/ tops that I was thinking about using, but in order to do that I'd have to rig up a center brace. Anyone have any ideas how to do this?

Some use metal braces bent on the ends that will support the center. Others have used wood pieces. The best would be to add a piece of glass under the trim on the inside of the tank similar to eurobracing.

A 4 to 6 inch plate of glass resting on top of the front and back plates then seal in place with silicone. The thicker the better but 1/4 inch is a good starting point.
