Early this morning I went to check out my monsters when I saw my other albino lying upside down on the bottom of the tank. I got and took a close look and it was still breathing. I turned him right side up and there seems to be something in him that's making him roll to that position... maybe too much air? He can only move his front fins, but not that much. Is this a sign that he won't last very long?

What kind of substrate do you have?

Most likely swallowed a piece of gravel. Happens alot. Unfortunatley there isn't really anything you can do. Sand or fine gravel is the best bet for bichirs. I'm really sorry, it's a very nice albino.

well sad to say my little guy passed away this afternoon. NOOOOOH!

I guess I'll be rescaping my tank to avoid this issue in the future. What's left now is an 18" ornate and that little guy's brother, an 8" albino...
