i got my first ever rope fish and it died after 2 days...
the first tiem ive seen them here and it dies.:irked:
it was fien at first.
then it suddenly had milky eyes.
then it died today.

Ropefish are often mishandled during catch and transport unfortunately, so that probably had something to do with it.

I've seen a lot that have broken fins, scarring, or actual wounds and infections. I have had one die on me not long after I got it that had no visible injuries, however, he was swimming erratically for several days before he passed. I had another one previously that had the same erratic swimming behavior, however that one did actually recover after several weeks.

So yeah, not sure what the actual mortality rate on ropefish is, but it seems to be fairly high.

srry for your loss, i just found mine dried up on the floor:cry:

sorry for your loss too.
i did notice a bit of white mucus when i got him.
but i thought he was fine and it would clear after awhile.
