My doctor says I need to quit smoking as I have been for years. Anyone try or no anything about the E cigarettes? Which is the best ones and do they seem to work?

this is my experience

first of all, i know it's a bad habit, but i've always loved smoking. but i hate everything else that comes with it. the smell that lingers on your breath and fingers and clothes,......

plus my wife hates it and i don't like the overwhelming urge to go get my next nicotine fix that takes over you

so i had a coworker who tried the ecig and introduced me to it. i gotta say, after about a year of using the ecig, it isn't as good as a real cig. But for me, it is a substitute that gets me by. it satisfies me enough to let go of the real thing. i love that the urges are not as strong once i was on the ecig as when i was smoking real cigs. there was a time when the place i get it from was on backorder, and i ran out before my next shipment got to me. so i went and bought some cigarettes and they tasted horrible. the smell, the taste, the strength was just nasty. so i like it that i'm not used to the real thing anymore.

ecigs offer different strengths too. i started off getting mediums, then now i'm at light. they even have zero's. but zero's taste like you're just inhaling menthol air. but the goal is to slowly get to the zero's and eventually quit all together.

i use the brand V2cigs

i never tried any other brand so i can't compare. they are ok i guess. i would rate them 3 to 4 stars out of five. i've had some problems with quality issues in the past. they were minor things but when you have all the parts working, it's great.

and remember, everyone is different. all the smokers i know who have tried the ecig hate it. they've either tasted it and didn't care for it or tried it out and went back to real cigs. i'm just glad i was able to stick to it.

also, if you are/were a smoker like me, who was just into the regular brands like marlborough and not the more expensive cigs like benson & hedges, ecigs are more expensive but not by a whole lot. for me, it was worth it

here's to give you an idea. i smoke like one e-cartridge a day, which costs $2 for a cartridge. I used to finish a pack of cigarettes every 3-4 days, I'm not a heavy smoker. so in 3-4 days, that's about 4 cartridges which would cost me $8. a pack of marlborough would cost $5-$6. see, not a whole lot different. the only costly thing is you gotta invest some money in the beginning to start (i'd say roughly $50-$100 depending on the brand of ecig you go with that comes with the battery(s), car charger and all that)

let me know if you have any questions. i can recommend what i think you should get if you wanna try it out

I smoked from the time i was 13-14, up until october when i was 24, i was smoking a pack-pack and a half a day and i truely did love smoking, i still love the smell of a cig, and i really miss smoking and occaisionally i will take a drag off a friends camel just for the taste, but i no longer crave it. i tried the ecigs just for the sake of trying it when i was thinking about quitting and i got nothin from it, but i guess everyone is different.
I say if your gonna quit, just quit, and dont even bother with the e cigs and patches and such. I dont wanna sound like a bragger or anything, but it really wasnt anywhere near as hard as everyone says ya it sucked, but i think people make out to be worse than it is, ya just put your mind to it and dont buy any cigs, ya cant smoke what you dont have. I say cold turkey is the way to go i think all the slowly stepping down crap (which i tried when i was younger) just draws it out longer.
Good luck with quitting :D

it worked for my sister who smoked a pack a day. im still still trying it i smoke about 6 cigs a day. she smokes one that has a bunch of different flavors but cant remember the name sorry
