I was wondering if anyone had used these before for hatching? We just got a tin of them and unlike the san fransisco bay brand we got in the 6g format at petsmart, this stuff isnt hatching very well. It is supposed to be 80% which is greater than the stuff from petsmart also. We measured out the salt to the instructed amounts and the ph required was the same as for SF bay brand. Despite this, we've had a very low hatch rate with these and cannot pinpoint the reason. Does anyone have any experience with this brand? Im trying to figure out if maybe the eggs are bad.

Its hard to say really. I've never tried that brand but I have had just odd batches of different brands that had typically done well previously and then one batch just not do much of anything.

On a side note BBS looses most of it's bennificiary nutrients after 72 hours. It's expensive but I've found cyclop-eeze to be an ultimate subsitution. If you have fry too small for that then just get some micro worms and grindel worms. Both are SUPER easy to culture and are a higher quality food for your fish!

I want to culture some microworms eventually but it'd be impossible to convince my roomie to have bugs in the apartment lol. I looked it up and apparently these napulii are from a Chinese salt lake meaning they are a different strain entirely. They look different than the SF bay brand ones when they do hatch. The hatch rate is so incredibly low though that something MUST be wrong. Either we're doing the wrong thing or the eggs are bad.
