I recently after doing some researched decided to buy an eagle claw featherlight rod from walmart, it was only $20 and had some really good reviews. I also put on an Abu Garcia cardinal on it with 8lb fireline, does this sound like a good set up for large mouth bass and some smaller still water fish, i honestly think my biggest fish has been a carp that almost snapped my 5' ugly stick in half.

eagle class arent for bass lol theyre too soft and the actions slow not fast wich makes it harder to get a hook set, so dont use any lures...... but live bait for bass is mad fun with an eagle claw that doubles when you catch a bluegill lol

welll i figured with a lighter rod would make it more of a fight but i can see how it being so flexible wouldn't set the lure fast enough.

its still realy fun me and my friends use them for sunnies and trout, but i would deffinetly use them for bass wit like 4 pound line, no lures just live bait cuz the rods too soft to use lures with in my opinion, maybe jigs but thats bout it, the fight is awsome tho!

typically jig heads are all I used, its either live bait in the state park or ponds, and jig heads with a mr. twister or walleye assassin on it.

get a 7' ug stick there cheap an i love mine i got a med-heavy action
yeaaaa i pull some big ins out...
just 2 days ago i gotta 8lb cat (thats a fun fight)
and a close to 20" carp using sweet corn ona hair rig...
first fishin day this season..
reminds me i gotta get them pcs up!!!
i always get bass with t to

that sounds like a better carp rod then a bass rod to me

well right now I have a 6' ugly stick and a 5' foot ugly stick, I bought the eagle claw figuring i could use him like i do my 5' ugly stick for smaller fish and for when i make the hike into a wooded area.

I used it today in a slow moving river with some live bait, it casts beautifully I messed up when spooling it though and the line got tangled on the spool so i had to pull the line and respool it but it casts beautiful no bites so i dunno how it is going to fair with a fish on yet.
