A not-so-local fish store has some eartheaters in stock. I haven't determined what they are yet, but am sure they are in the Guianacara genus. Has anyone kept these with rays before?

I keep Geophagus Altufrons with my adult rays no problem. They are over 10" though. I tried to keep guianacara geayi with them and even at 3" they were a pain in the arse. So aggressive and constantly biting my rays and even took on my adult male Hoplarchus who is roughly 14"! I don't really class guianacara as eartheaters now!

Thanks. I may pass on them.

I kept 6 very large (9 inch+) wild caught Geophagus winemilleri with a pair of leos for almost two years with no problems. The geos bred regularly, but the rays would normally eat most of the eggs over night. It was a 300 gallon tank, video of the set up early on is here:

If they are big enough, no problem. My mm's ate all mine. I had a group of 6 Heckelii about 6" or so.
If you have a group just do one male and a herem of females.
