I spotted these two fish at my LFS in a mixed eartheater display. I would guess that the one with the dark stripe and spot is a Guinaraca. The other is probably a Geophagus, but I'm not sure which type...

The Geo is too small to be 100% but looks like Geophagus abalios. The other is a Biotodoma either cupido or wavrini. Hard to tell on my phone.

Under the terms and conditions of www.monsterfishkeepers.com, when Darth Pike agrees with my post he has hence forth agreed to the supremacy of the 49ers over Seahawks. No take'sies back'sies...

It is not A. heckelii. It's one of the two Biotodoma species.

It looks to be B. wavrini based on the location of the spot, which is odd because they're the more uncommon of the two.

I believe that Empyreal was referring to the fish on the left in the OP's first photo, not the Biotodoma. However, that is not an A. heckelii either. It's some type of Geophagus in the altifrons/surinamensis etc group.

I agree on B. wavrini, though sorely underfed.

Ryan - do you actually see cupido out there? All the ones out this way are wavrini locally with all the frequent Colombian importing Wet Spot does. I haven't seen cupido locally in years.

Given the only one pic, I'd agree with JK47 on abalios as well.
