I have a standard 6ft 150G tank with 3 XP3 canisters, Im curious if this mix of eartheaters would work well:

2 Satanoperca daemon
3 Gymnogeophagus meridiunalis
3 Geophagus dicrozoster
3 Geophagus pindare
2 Geophagus abalios
1 Royal Pleco
20 large bodied tetras

What about

4 Geophagus abalios
4 Satanoperca daemon
2 Atabapo Severums
1 Royal

yeah that would be SWEET stock:headbang2you could even still do some larger bodied tetras, if the sevs grow up with them and they are higher bodied and fast then they shouldnt get eaten

This would be an awesome tank assuming your water was soft enough to care for S. Daemon, hard water will do them in. This is just my opinion but I would bump up the abalios to about 6 (even more if your growing them out to thin out later) and try to get a good male/female ratio. Abalios are fairly aggressive (for geos) and the males are relentless with females at breeding time.
You may end up with a lot of torn up fins/missing filaments otherwise.

Thanks everyone :) Do you think the dicrozoster would be a more peaceful option? They grow 2" smaller than the abalios which would probably be good since the tank is only 150G. I keep a reef tank so have an RO unit...I could mix it with tap without issues. But my tap itself has a pH of 7.4 and a dKH of about 5. I also plan to add some leaf litter and peat filtration. I was thinking of either bleeding heart, diamond or lemon tetras. Any thoughts which would work best? Probably just 1 large shoal of one species. My scape is going to be a bunch of manzanita branches, river stones and floating plants for a natural vibe for the fish :)

River rocks AND sand right?? ;) Dicrozoster may be an even better bet. Abalios are less commonly imported right now than Dicrozoster, per a conversation I had earlier this month with Rapps. (that and the next large school is going to me anyway :grinno:)
