I have a 100g tank and I'm going to stock it full of small eartheaters. What do you think of a tank like this:

Stock:
5 geo red head tapajos
3 s. leucostica
3 s. daemon
1 geo surinamenis.
3 heckelii
All these guys are currently 1-2" juvies.

Also want to put in 2 altifrons and 2 s. jurapari. and a small uaru and rotkeil sev.

Filtration will be an eheim 2217 and either an xp4 or fx5. And I'm going to use either pool filter sand or black color quartz sand.

Is this tank way overstocked? What do you think of this tank?

sounds really overstocked to me, would probably be ok with the smaller growing geos but you have to take into account that geos like suris and altifrons get to be a foot each, i would leave them out and do the others and it should be ok but then im not really experienced with these guys yet, i definitely dont think all the geos and the uaru or sev would be good, just to much bioload for a 100g tank,

oh and while the Xp3s are excellent filters (i have had mine for the past 8 or more years without having to replace anything) i have heard that the Xp4s can have motor problems, so i would stick with an Xp3

why not do this
4 geo red head tapajos
3 s. leucostica
3 s. daemon.

Only reason I can't is bc I already bought the 15 juvie eartheaters I listed up there except for the altifrons and jurapari.

Right now theyre in a 30g growout tank and I want to keep them together bc theyre really social with each other and it would be cool to have 5-6 different species in together. I know I probably have too many, but I caught Geo Fever a few months ago and theyre my new favorite fish. :) I sold my big aro and some datnoids to make room for my baby geos in my 100g.

Even if I had huge filtration for it like an FX5 and an eheim 2217, and considering how slow they grow, I would still be very overstocked?

eventually yes, and i wouldn't be surprised if you started having aggression problems with the heckelii down the road
