Eartheater, which is the largest specie?

Hi all,

I'm getting conflicting info so I'd figure I'd ask here. Which is the largest of the Geos?
I'm looking for the largest, prettiest, docile eartheater out there!

Geophagus altifrons can get 10" and have some amazing colors especially as adults. Plus they do best when kept in groups of 4 or more...
 
Are you looking for the largest or the most docile? The largest may not be the most docile, and vice versa. Some of the larger Geos can get a bit rough. Also, are you only interested in Geophagus, or are you including things like Satanoperca as well?

'Geophagus' brasiliensis get pretty large but they are not very docile.
 
They need to get along with other somewhat peaceful, non-territorial monsters like Tigrinus, barracudas, bichirs so not sure if brasiliensis would do? I have no experience whatsoever with Geos which is why I'm asking.

Then i say Geo. Altifron is your fish.. I've had them before and they're great.. I still regret ever selling them.. :(

What about Albios, seen a few for sale on here. My understanding is that they're similar to Altifrons?
