do earthworms make a good staple food? im asking because thats all i can get my ck to eat so far, he loves em but wont touch anything else so far. the worms are bought at a bait shop, and they are raised at a worm farm so im shure they should be safe food. all my other fish like them as treats as well.

earth worms are great food; but, beware that their fat content is pretty high, so don't feed too much in one setting. Some people get put off because sometimes, you have to chop up the worms. I always try to get some worms for my fish during rainy season where i live because then, i don't have to buy any.

I find it a lot easier to chop up the worms after they are frozen, especially when small peices are needed for the smaller fish.

Earthworms are 62.2% crude protien but as stated they are fairly high in fat content at 17.7%.I wouldn't use them as a staple but as part of a well balanced diet they would be fine-Anne

I use them to stimulate spawning so if I used them all the time, it would be harder to induce breeding when I wanted fish to spawn.
