Ok, im trying to breed paratilapia polleni 'small spot'. I know that earthworms are their favorite food, and that the high content in protein can "excite" them. however, how an I obtain earthworms that are free of chemicals? Are plain old night crawlers chemical free?

thanks

I get my earthworms and nightcrawlers from the little bait fridge at wal-mart, in sporting goods. They've been the staple food for my now 3 year old fire eel and (s)he is doing great.

What I'm doing this spring is going to an online store and buying a big indoor worm composter. You feed the earthworms your table scraps and they make it into compost. You can also order 1lb (1000) of worms for $35. Which beats the hell out of buying two dozen for 2.75. Self-raised feeders are the best feeders, remember that you can gut-load those worms with high nutrition food scraps. Do some browsing online and see what kinds of deals you can get.
