just the other day i found some earthworms in the backyard and decided to feed them to my oscar, he loved them, couldnt get enough of them. but my concern is this safe to do can i feed him any earthworms i find or could my oscar get sick or a disease or something?

It can get sick if you use any chemicals in your lawn. They are fine for him to eat but I would get them form a bate shop. They are fine from your lawn though if you don't use chemicals. But to be safe, I just buy from my local bate shop.

:iagree:
with said above also never take them off the black top (drive way ) if you see one at the edge.. they absorb the chemical's as they eat buy mean's of absorbtion , feed'em corn meal ... you can find this in your super market...

Worm' s do mess the water more so be religious with water change's :D

McGavin Worm Farms sells like 12 dozen worms for $25 shipped...thats A LOT of worms for cheap...and he breeds his special for tropical fish. Hes also a seller here! ;)

i feed my oscars worms all the time...i just pinch em out of my old mans worm farm...i just hope he doesnt find out lol

I feed mine worms from my yard I never use lawn chemicals and neigbors are at least 1/4 mile away.I usually feed him peas the next day so he doesnt get constipated

Your asking us if it's safe to feed your oscar the worms AFTER you have already done it...odd. To answer the question, they are certainly healthy and make a great part of your fish's diet but gathering them from the wild is risky. They can come into contact with chemicals, pesticides, pollution.
