Easter Eggs, Round 'n Fat

Though they're not my thing of late, some of the cichlids are pretty impressive. Currently, I'm enjoying this Festae.

He gets bored in his space and regularly rearranges the decor. The filter must be buried under heavy rocks. The rocks aren't really a deterrent, but it makes him work a little harder. I think he appreciates my help. Ha, ha...
His mate is in another space. I cleaned her tank for a nice picture but she's not used to the light I added and refuses to come out of hiding.

I kept Paretroplus maculates a while back as an experiment to know what potential they had for use in aquaculture. They grow slowly, are very laterally compressed (as can be seen in the reflection), and are very particular in their diet. But they were a lot of fun for several years. Kind of miss them.

Great looking Festae, has to be my favorite fish. I had a nice male for a bit but rehomed him. Was afraid he would grow out to be a big guy and I wasn't able to provide him an adequate tank.

My pair always spawns on the overflow in the 220. There is plenty of other rocks but always choose that location.
