That is a good looking snake. Brings back memories for me. I used to have two 6+ footers in the early 90's that were massive. Still one of my favorite N. American rattlers.

wow man, that is a beautifull snake. i am lovin the eye bands, nice dark diamonds too. wish i was 18 so i could get one.

Thanks guys. It is a small snake (about 2' 10") and is being kept with a canebrake of a similar size. Both are growing slow on a diet of a jumbo mouse every mon. and sat. but I am moving them up to small rats soon so I bet they will have a jump in size when I do that.

Are the two a male and female? I kept a C. scutulatus with a C. cerastes. for a few years and I ended up with a litter of 3 hybrids unexpectedly. Neat babies though, they had the attitude of mojaves but could move like sidewinders.

not sure. I don't have the proper tubes to retrain these guys to probe them but just eyeballing it they look like a pair (but there is a good chance they aren't). In any case, they will be staying together in definitely. If they breed then great, if not- well I have never liked hybrids anyways....
