I'm curious as to how many people have had experience with these awesome little guys. I had some a while back that I caught and brought home but they didn't make it due to a filter failure. So here's my question. How do you care for these and what is the tank size. whats the feeding requirements, ext.

I had a few.. from 2 inches up to 5 inch monster! they fell victim to my bass though. I find these in my friends bait shop tanks along with darters sicklbacks sunnys bull heads ect. if your looking for some im sure i can scoop'm up! im not sure what you should feed them but i know mine LOVED frozen blood worms. i would think 10 gal. is enough for a few of them. they only get up to 3-5 inches as far as i know but are thin.. a good size comparison for a full grown would be your middle finger... assuming your an adult.

Males can get about 5 inches, females to about 7. They're quite predatory and can take fish quite a bit bigger than you'd expect. They're mildly territorial but shouldn't really harass anything too big to eat. A 10g is more than enough for a few as they're not that active. Provide lots of cover and low lighting, good tankmates include tadpole madtoms, larger minnows (over 3"), flagfish, smaller sculpins, etc.

I had some easterns, pretty cool little fish, if somewhat boring. They ate anything. I think I got em to eat freeze dried bloodworms on the first day they were home. Never noticed any territoriality or agression, but they were definately more active at night.
