I set up a new 5.5 gallon for my dwarf crays and some guppies. Neither will eat plants. So what are some easy plants for the tanks? I have Ada aqua soil substrate for them but I don't want to dose any ferts or add CO2. Lighting is pretty strong, 3 WPG.
P.s.- Don't recommend moss, I know already.
Thanks! :grinno:

duckweed can be in almost any canal or pond or store and it can grow like mad anywhere where there is light, water and nitrates.

I cultivated some outside in the summer but my fish ate it all.

OH also java moss is apparently easy but I managed to almost kill mine shortly after I bought a huge wad. I have a few strands left and they just started growing again.

Java moss tends to die off, then start growing again. I've tried it 3-4 different times, and that's how it almost always happens. It also seems to do better if you buy a big wad & break that big wad up into smaller pieces. It seems like the wad ALWAYS dies, and the ends of it are what start growing.
