Easy Spots... Salvini info:)

Beginner fish enthusiest (I am not a Pro) often ask sex of some species, here is an easy way to differ the two in cichlasoma salvini....

in the picture below are two Salvini. The top is the female, notice the black dot below the gill plate? Also notice on the middle of the dorsal fin, black/dark blue hue or spot. It's that easy. The male is on bottom, notice the more blue hues and speckles? Also the size difference. Hope this helps set some people straight
