I am working with a 20 tall. I am going to start breeding because I've never done it and would like to give it a try. I am also doing it for a live food source for my larger fish. I was going to just do cons. Now I'm thinking firemouths. Now I want to get a female convict and a male firemouth. The only reason I want to have the van as the female is because they are more colorful than the males. I'm looking for any other small cichlids that are easy to breed and cross.

I've heard it takes them 5 or more years to get that big. If the pair grow to be more then 4 and a half inches or so I'll move them to my main take and grow out a few for another pair.
