Good Morning All,

I am in the planning phases of setting up a tank 350g-750g. I wanted to ask some opinions on easy water change set ups. I heard the Bin and Pump method. Also Python system that connects to the sink. Any other ideas for a neat and clean set up. I wish to make the water changes easier such a temperature matched and PH matched so I can just replace the water right away without worrying about altering water chemistry or chlorine. I have about 8 5g buckets which I will keep because you never know when you will need buckets but I want to be able to pump water back into the tank without buckets. My water is 6.0 and has chlorine. I usually harden the water with Seachem Alkaline Buffer which holds my PH steady at 7.2 for about a month and I use Seachem Prime to remove Chlorine. Another question I have is... is there a system that can adjust PH and Temp and hold it there until I am ready to water change?

Good Morning a Auto Drip Water changing system would be ideal. Python would be the other solution.

tlindsey tlindsey the python water changer seems like a cheap way to go my only concern is that since the water goes directly to the tank it may effect the fish. I could turn the pump off, does Prime to do chlorine. But for PH it may be more trickey since I use Seachem Alkaline buffer.

You should do a test with your water and crushed coral. Get a bucket of water add a cup of crushed coral and test the pH over a few days to see what it comes out to. Then add more or less. You can always put a media bag in the sump full of cc to help the pH once you figure out how it will effect your parameters.

twentyleagues twentyleagues Good and Classic idea. I hope oneday there is an invention to automate the entire process such as setting the PH Level and Temp and forgetting it until the next water change.

Yes that is a classic way to handle pH. To handle temp you can obviously do it with a python or like I did with a dedicated line run to the tank with a temperature mixing valve like this
When I was on city water with chlorine I ran the water through 2 carbon blocks which took the chlorine to undetectable levels. My pH was fine I didn't need to worry about it but I would have handled it with cc if needed. So a water change on around 500g took very little effort and between draining, filing, cleaning glass, and spot gravel vaccing took about an hour.

Awesome thanks so much for linking me this, this solves the Temperature I guess I can do the bucket method to desired level then mark the tank for future reference and mix Alkaline Buffer for the equivalent water removed so when I change water all I do is add the correct Prime and Buffer.
