Hi All. I have a 36g bowfront with 2 Labs,2 Blue Acai and there were 5 tiger barbs. The last couple days 2 of the barbs have been killed. one with just a chunks and the eyes eaten out the other one pretty much completely eaten. dont know for sure who the culprit is but my understanding was the these cichlids are pretty peaceful. Wondering if its breeding behavior or just to be expected. Thanks

I agree..those are fairly peaceful cichlids (having said that...there are always a few individuals that are snots regardless of species). However, I think it's more likely the barbs are picking on each other, if it is aggression based death...rather than the acei or labs. I've seen barbs be fairly obnoxious among their own kind, even with a decent sized group. I'd also look into other potential causes of death, as fish are perfectly ok with eating fish that are sick or dying, even if there was never aggression to start with.
