Two people walk into a,restaurant for a meal. One of them walks out and doesn't return. Is the person who remains legally responsible for covering the entire bill? If so,why?
If the remaining person didn't consume the other person's food then how is that person responsible for paying for it?

It's one of those questions that is hard to answer like if one half of a pair of siamese twins shoots someone what happens to them? Legally I would think the resturant would make the person pay and then that person would come after his "friend".

But what if that person is not the one who placed the order or ever even uttered a word to the waitress?

Well I think this phrase works well here, "Life ain't fair". Generally it's a pretty safe move for the restaurant at least it used to be. Now that most people are on social media anyone that had this happen to would immediately go post about it on social media and cause the business to lose customers or even have to shut down because it gets no business after that person ruined them on social media.
In this day and age I think the restaurant would just mark it off as a loss.

I heard some guy was doing blind dates and before the bill would come, he would sneak out. They said he could face up to 13 years. Must have been alot for 13 years.

It's kinda sad some people will try to avoid paying $10-20 meal. That's honestly not that much. If you barely have any money then go to McDonalds and get the dollar menu but don't force the resturant to lose money and the person you were with to pay what you ate. That's just disrespectful. Right?

That is what inspired this thread topic.

Later in the same day I heard that they were talking about a guy that owes almost $20,000 in toll fees and said he will face no jail time. I was like what? These 2 stories don't make sense.
