eating plants?

hey so my piranha just started eating the fake plants i have in his tank, my question is can this hurt him? (they are silk leaves not plastic) and has anyone elses p's eaten the plants?

piranhas sometimes make a habit of biting fake plants, some really seem to enjoy them, ha. are you sure they're eating them or are they just tearing them up a bit?

My reds ate fake plant, real plant as well.

It's better to take fake plant out.

no they ate them, they ate the fish first then i guess they were still in some sorta frenzy and ate the plants, i can't put real plants in because they last about 2 days before there is nothing but roots left, the pleco helps with this. so it shouldn't kill him? he only does it every now and then and only one or 2 leaves at a time.

Even mine eats plants when hes hungry.. riped it up!! but i have natural plants..

thats why i switched over to live plants... all my piranha's love to eat plants
