Ok so I have a ray that is not eating. I got her 9 month ago and she was in my 55 gallon for a bit with no problems. I kept the water clean and she was very happy and healthy. I then got a Motoro and put them both in a 180 a few weeks ago. They love it. but I am worried that she is not eating. The Motoro is nice and fat but my Hermosa is real skinny. So I separated them with a divider and the Hermosa is on the one end of my tank alone.

I have been feeding them a science diet that I get from another MFKer (so don’t ask what it is I do not know)who has 11 rays I believe who all eat it up no problem. The Motoro loves it and will go to town when I feed her. The Hermosa will play with it but I do not know if she is eating it at all.

So I separated them to see if she was eating it and she is not. So I then tried shrimp. Last night she went right for the shrimp but after trying to eat it for a half hour or so she lost interest. She could not get it down it was to tough. I did cut it up in small pieces but she struggled.

So right now I gave her a worm. Which is what she ate for the first 5 months I had her. I would put them in hole and she would suck them up no problem. This time I cut them in half and she cant get them down she is fighting it but it is a worm and not fighting back to hard.

Has she lost strength? She still swims around strong but she is very skinny. I am concerned that she has not eaten in a few weeks?

I am going to keep trying the shrimp and worms until she is plump again then try the science diet again.
What food should I try next?

Was the 180 properly cycled? How is the filtration? Tankmates? Depending on size, I would stop using nightcrawlers and shrimp. I would feed live blackworms until she get fat and has her apetite back.

Definatley going to have to test your water. Let us know what your params are and we will go from there. Offer blackworms in the meantime if they are available.
Also did you move her into a new tank or the Motoro?
Were both tanks properly cycled before hand?

My gut is saying to do a water change. Test your water before and after.

Ok let me start over my post is not clear.

I put a devider in the tank not moved her.
My problem is not tht she wont eat anything my problem is she wont eat my science diet food. so i am feeding her worms and shrimp which she is eating but how do i get her on the science diet food? she went at least 2 weks with out eating and she still had no interest in it?
