I'm in the process of setting up a 180 gallon tank and was looking at lighting. I found this 72" LED on ebay and was just wondering if anybody has any experience with this specific light. I'm just nervous that its gonna be too bright and possibly create algae issues since I don't really plan on having live plants.

I strongly recommend these customizable LEDs. They come with control with tons of color adjustments and patterns. Very bright and cheap. You just order a roll and then go to Home Depot or lowes and get some white plastic Rain gutters. Glue these lights inside and boom you have a great led light fixture for $25. You say you have a 180 gallon. I'm assuming that's 6ft. One of these light rolls is 15 feet so you can wrap it up the gutter and back down for a double thick strip of LEDs that will be plenty bright. If you aren't happy with the brightness you can always order another roll and connect them together. I have spent $100s of dollars on LED fixtures in the past but no more these lights are great. I just spent $50 and have two 10 foot gutters painted black on top of my 500 gallon with 2 strips in each and it lights the tank up perfectly. The white light has a nice blue tint not yellow to it love it. And I use the blue lights for nighttime moonlight. Always fun to light the tank up Red or green every once in awhile though lol

Agree. I actually have this exact one. It is very bright and at $25, a bargain.....and a very good product. I've tried this on my 180 and it is plenty of light for me, but some people like their lighting very strong, so 2 sets should be more than adequate.

The plastic protecting the LED will turn yellow with time and at some point it will loss the brightness but it's cheap to replace though...too cheap compare to other LED light.

48" EBay LED. I got it in the mail yesterday. This is my second one. My first is a 24" and I've had it for 3 years now. The 48" was $50

I just ordered an Ebay led strip for my 75 half hour ago, same company as the OP,hoping its a decent strip
