Hey everybody. I have been fortunate enough to have a pair of EBGD spawn for the first time. I purchased 6 of them when they were about an inch long and raised them together. These two just paired off naturally. I can tell there are some eggs that aren't fertilized because they're still white but so far the majority looks good. This is day 3 so I assume the female will be moving the wigglers to a pit.

I know the quality of the photo isn't great. This was the eggs on day 1 . Substrate is filtered pool sand.

not EBJD, if they carry the blue gene you will be 25% EBJD, they grow a lot slower than the others in the spawn and you will need to separate them ASAP or their siblings will kill them

My fish are blue gene jack dempseys. I didn't mean that they were electric blues. She just moved the eggs out of the clay pot this evening. I will watch closely when they become free swimmers and separate as soon as possible.

I just missread the post. Im always used to seeing Blue genes listed as BGJD, I had a pair of BGJD lay on friday as well. Im also in Tennessee. Congrads on your spawn.
