EBJD aggression?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have an angel in with my mixed CA and SA mellow community which includes both an EBJD and a JD. The JD is exceptionally mellow and the EBJD is still a little guy at less than 4". The angel also has no problem standing up for himself. Like with all cichlids, it really boils down to the temperament of the individuals. It is working right now for me.

My ebjd doesn't start anything but wouldn't hesitate to put another fish in its place. My angels are in another tank and never bothered cupidos or rams, the only aggression is conspecific. If your angels are the same way you may be ok.

I have and have had these for awhile-years. I would say that the aggression/ is very individual so its up to you if you want to chance it. I will say that if the tank does not allow the EBJD to claim a territory or area is not adequate in size the angel fish is toast. But with enough room you should be fine.
