maybe high quality jack dempsey, or an bgd

its not and ebjd, and there is NO WAY TO TELL VISUALLY if a jack is BG or not, that simply means that they carry the RECESSIVE gene for the ebjd coloring, but they will not express this phenotypically (visually) there is now way to tell a regular jack from a bgjd unless you were specifically told it was a blue gene by the breeder or you can breed it with an ebjd and have some of the resulting fry be electric blues... Good looking fish though, def gonna be a stunner when he matures

The first two pics make it look like an ebjd, but the last pic indicates that it's a jd with a lot of blue spangling. Also probably a male.

They are EBJDs.I have 2 just like those you have.Bought them from a lfs,and I too was questioning whether they were EBs or not.Think ctrl is right, just a lower grade EB.Got mine at 2 inches, now over 3 and their coloring is spreading nicely over their bodies. Not as nice as some of my other EBs,but to me they look unique.Almost like a new strain of EBs.
