Just wondering if there would be any reason for an EBJD to have very pale colouring.
Most of the time mine has a very light blue colour to it, and there is almost a pinkish undertone to it. Looks slightly transparent.

when i had mine they were just like that its was almost a pale/gray color then one day one of them darkend up then a few month later the other did the same

Mine gets light color when stressed. If he is gettig picked on that could cause him to be lighter. Mine is dark most of the time he is also number 2 in the pecking order but is trying to become number one. Darker means domanite.

But some ebjd strains are lighter in color. So that could be it. They also change colors alot during life. Mine was really dark at first then got light then dark again as he grew.

Sad news hes dead, came home found him all stiff with mouth all wide apart. Have a feeling he fought to the death. was almost 3 inches, was the strongest fastest growing ebjd i had.

Awww sorry. So he was getting stressed out by another fish. :(

if he was almost all black then he was probably sick with parasites or something, ive heard many stories on here how their ebjd turn super dark and then died shortly thereafter

and alyssa i think its jsut some are lighter than others, these guys change colors like crazy as they mature so he will probably darken up as he grows bigger GOOD LUCK
