I have very big electric blue jacks that are all 7-9'' and have had them for over 2 years. I changed the polish filter in the fx5 and they are acting wierd..that is the only thing I can think of that could of messed them up. They are not glass banging for food..and seem to swim near the top and back. They eat well still, but kind of seem to lack corrodination, (they miss pellets they are going after.)
Anyone know what I should do to help them? I have clear whitish slime floating in my tank. All other fish are fine, synos, severums, bichirs. I always have problems with these fish sooner or later. I have had them for years and they are beautiful but can be a pain. I have had success with salt with the non eating disorder... but this is a new one for me.

is there poop white? and are they darker or lighter coloring?

no normal

do a water change to see if that helps.

My fish act not like themselves a day or 2 after my BB takes a big cleaning or gets scattered. The film on the top means there is something of excess in the water. Either protien or dead organic matter. Soak up all of this you can with paper towels and add more surface agitation and they should be back to glass banging soon enough.

I meant coming off of my fish(the clear slime comes off anf floats around the tank and gets pushed around. THe severum eats it which is kind of disgusting. lol What is good is they are interested again when I walk over to the tank. They still eat and scuffle so they must be somewhat healthy. Strange fish....ebjds...they are a challenge to keep that is for sure. I salted and added a little bit of melafix only added one cup of salt though. After a 15g water change..just syphoning the gravel. They seem to be almost normal their color is even looking better.

Thanks for the ideas guys.
