If I am feeding him NLS and Hikari and 3 50% wc weekly, could I expect decent growth? I'm not talking like 1 inch a month, mayabe like 3/4 inch every 8 weeks.

How big is your fish tank and are there other tankmates? if you have good filtration I'd say you can get away with 2 50% a week. As far as foods, those are good choices, you can feed him frozen bloodworms too if you'll like. But according to what you said you can expect decent growth.
