can i use RID ICK with my ebjd? its about an inch and the other one is about 2 inches. only the little one has it. will they be ok with the RID ICK?

Blue Dempseys are prone to parasitic infection...

Jungle Parasite Clear has a good reputation to work on them...

UV lights aer a good preventative maintenance...

I have no personal experience or knowledge with Rid Ick

I had ick a few weeks ago in my EBJD 90gal setup, and I used rid ick it didn't hurt them but it didn't kill the ick. I used API super ICK cure and it worked great. Good luck

the only product that i use is jungle anti parasite. i do not like meds. i treat ich by raising the tank temp and using salt. given the sensitive nature of EBJD's I would be reluctant to keep dumping chemicals on them.

+1, i have never had to use chemicals to cure ich, just raised temp to like 84 and add 1tsp per gallon salt each day for 2-3 days and then let tank be for at least a week (i usually let it be for two weeks just to be sure) i usually dont do water changes during this time but if you do just remember to replace the salt you took out with the wc, and i agree with what has been said ebjd are prone to parasite infections and jungle anti-parasite med is a great medication to treat them with that doesnt seem to have any adverse reactions even on really young ebjd GOOD LUCK

+2.

Honestly I don't understand why people buy stuff like Rid Ick when salt and raising the temperature work every time for me. Too much salt may hurt plants if you have them in the tank, but I suspect raising the temperature itself would work too.

thanks for all the help. i havent used the rid ick yet. ill try raising the temp and the salt. i dont see the little white specks on him anymore though.

thats good but still do the treatment, the white spots you see are only the egg cysts, the adult forms can still be in the water without you seeing anything so that's why its important to have the salt and temp raised for at least a week (better to be two weeks) to make sure that all life cycles have been taken care of
