I have an EBJD that I moved from a 75 gallon to a 15 gallon due to him getting beat up pretty bad (I got rid of the Jewel that did it). He grew his fins back in the 15 and is doing great. My plan is to move him back to the 75 when he is bigger, but how do I ensure I am not keeping him in there too long and stunting his growth? He’s only about 1 1/2”.

I’d move him when he hits maybe 3-3.5 inch. As long as you keep the water quality pristine as you should with young ebjds you shouldn’t worry about stunting growth before then.

What's the footprint of this 15g? I would be doing at least 5 gallon water changes everyday in a tank that small

It’s about 24” x 12”. I do about a 40% water change once per week. Water is crystal clear and conditions are perfect.

I never use crystal clear for measurement of water "cleanliness". I was picturing a quarantine tank when you said 15g not one with plants etc. I would be doing more than 40% once a week if I wanted it to grow more quickly.
I hear ya. By “conditions” I meant water parameters, and those are great with my current schedule. I wasn’t necessarily trying to accelerate his growth, but may consider doing that to get him back in the 75 faster. Thanks for the advice.
