Is it possible? It is the same fish afterall. I found a runt in a tank that had eb color, nice color.:DJust wondering. I can't post the pic, its on my phone and won't upload to my email:irked:, and I won't be home for a week to snap a new pic. Sorry for the teaser post. ha.

You can but I wouldn't recommend it. EB's get stressed very easy. Regular JD's on average are more aggressive. If the EB is bigger than the other Dempsey, sure. If it is smaller, I wouldn't unless you have a very large tank with lots of hiding spots.

yea like most cichlids they have very high cospecies agresion. i have two ebjd that really mean and one that is a push over.

I ment in the same tank in a Local Fish Store. haha Like can jack dempseys come in in the same shipment with eb. Not keeping the two together in my home tank.
I didn't want to keep them together just find them mixed in a batch of jd's. I am kind of cheap they are 50-60 moxt times in my area...yea I know insane.

IMO..dont do it.
Ive had JDs for a long time and they are A LOT meaner then EBJDs
I tried it out as well and it deff did not work.
My EBJD wouldnt defend himself so it made him an easy target.
From personal experiance Id recommened you dont do it.

but then again you never know unless you try.

I don't want to keep them together. I want to get find a $60 fish(well at least in my area.) for 3 dollars. haha. I think I may have found one, it was a runt, hiding in a cave and a kid netted it out for me. If its not one it still has nice light blue color, I want to grow it out regardless.

Well... the 1st EBJD i had with regular JD.. was fine.. the regular JD were actually scared of the EBJD...

but that one died due to a stomach burst..

I currently now have two Blue Gene JD at 2" very colorful.. more so than my EBJD... they are with only one JD baby at 1.5" so its peaceful..

I would say it really depends on the fish.. but EBJD can be kept with regular JD.. as long as theres enough room for all of them to move around.

Ah, gotcha. Anything is possible but I would think anyone breeding EB's would not make the mistake of including one with their regular JD's.

Well I found a hapala barb in with clown barbs before, hahaha crazy things happen in the aquarium trade. I have an old thread on it.

ok i got it mis labels happen all the time i say buy it. i got a biffa labeled as a blk belt for cheap not that long ago paid 25 and sold it for 50.
