EBJD Not eating!!

I just bought a EBJD from a guy and he said he used to feed him flakes. Ive had him for almost two days now and he wont eat flakes or my pellets what should i do i really dont want him to starve

How big is the EBJD?

Have you tried thawed frozen bloodworms? That usually always does the trick.

I would be concerned if it was a week , not two days. Just getting settled. Give it a little more time. There is a product "garlic guard" by seachem. Soak food in a little to entice the finicky fish to eat. Good luck with your new blue.

Frozen blood worms will do the trick!

Dempseys are pretty shy fish and most cichlids take a while to settle in. They can go a week without eating. Once he gets used to the tank he will start eating. It's normal. My FH took two weeks to eat.

This is all good news because im starting to get worried its day three and he still hasent eaten. Ive bombarded him with every food possible execpt blood worms. Previous owner feed him flakes and brine shimp, tried them both no luck. I tried pelletes ghost shrimp no luck. I guess tomorrow ill get bloodworms. He better start eating, ill be sooo sad if he starves himself to death. He seems so happy and his coloration is so beautiful so i know hes not stressed. I really hope he started to eat.

Day 4 and... Bloodworms did the trick!!!!!! But will he start eating my pellets eventually really dont want to only feed him bloodworms forever, that would get expensive..
