Cant guarantee a pair with just two, usually you grow out a group of them and they will pair off naturally. They may never bound ... they may end up killing each other ...or... if you get lucky they pair off! Hopefully you actually have a m/f
what ive done to help is get a another dempsey male and divide them - sometimes if they pair off the disturbance of another male sets off breeding behaviours.. make sure feeding good foods.. sometimes a slight drop in water temp can signal or trigger breeding -mimicking what happens in rainey season
