I have had my EBJD for about a month now and i have been feeding him nothing but frozen blood worms and brine shrimp and he is doing perfectly fine. I was wondering ive read a couple of posts from people saying never to feed them these types of foods, should i stop or is he ok.

variety is key, if you only give him one or two kinds of foods, it's likely that he's going to be missing out on something important. Personally, I recommend using a wide variety of flake, pellet, live, frozen, etc. Worms, shrimp, even fresh vegetables. That way you can be sure that he's getting everything he needs, and not too much of anything he doesn't

alright i wasnt sure some people have been saying that the EBJD are sensitive to parasites that are in the frozen bloodworms

i would use it only as a treat like 1-2x a week. they can harbor parasites, if feed to much the amount of undigested protien can cause problems in the inestines. use in moderation don't use it like it's gonna make your fish this magical ebjd

I agree that a varied diet is best...

I also feel a base diet of pellets is best...

But I've fed my Blue Dempseys frozen Bloodworms as an occasional treat for years...

Any quality brand of Frozen foods should not contain parasites... any that does should be avoided completely...
