ebjd questions

Good day, I have a five inch male ebjd that I grew out and and a female jd that I bought from aquabid sold as blue genes, they bred and I have about 200 babies about to swim. When can I tell if I have electric blues from the batch? If none turns out to be ebjd babies then the mom is just a regular jd right?

you will know after a week or so,you will know when you see them,the thing is to get the bgjds away from the ebjd because the bgjds will out eat the weaker ebjd,more breeders here will fill you in more

yeah if your demspey is indeed a bgjd then 50% of the fry will be ebjd and 50% will be bgjd, will be able to tell in a couple weeks when they start to show some color and then like said before you have to separate the ebjd fry because they grow somewhat slower and so will do better without the competition, if none of them turns out to be electric blues then your dempsey is just a regular one but all the offspring will be bgjd so then you just have to breed back one of the offspring to the mother to get the ratio i said above GOOD LUCK
